Songwriter and author Alex Woodard joins us to talk about bringing his celebrated book/music project ‘For the Sender’ to life at the Star Theatre in Oceanside. The show will benefit the Feeding the Soul Foundation and honor the recently-passed, beloved San Diego broadcaster Loren Nancarrow.
The ‘For the Sender’ book is based around five real-life letters written by individuals honoring those who had a major impact on their lives. Called “one of the year’s most touching, unique releases” by Billboard, the theme of ‘For the Sender’ is that love is not a feeling, but an action. One of the letters was written by Loren Nancarrow’s son Graham, who will join Alex on stage at the show. Alex also created a folk-inspired music collective (with Pundik and Jenson) to soundtrack the book on an enclosed 13-track CD.
Proper Villains’ Christopher Murray will perform live in-studio tonight at 7 p.m. PT/10 p.m.ET on www.blogtalkradio.com/akamac.
