David Justin joins us tonight Sept. 24 at 7 p.m. PT/10 p.m. ET on our show.
Growing up in a musical family, it was only a matter of time before David Justin decided to follow his family’s footsteps. A singer/songwriter from Houston, TX, David began his musical career at the early age of eight years old when he learned how to play the violin. Within two years, he was winning local and regional competitions. At the age of 12, he picked up the drums, and by the age of 17, he began crafting his songwriting skills and playing the guitar. Once David honed all of his musical skills, he decided to make music his career.
"For the longest time I never let anyone listen to my songs. It was almost like my security blanket. I would play for hours into the night and time had no meaning to me. With a handful of songs I knew that recording a record was the only thing left for me to do," explains David Justin.
With his recent performance at Gap’s live acoustic music event and his nomination as a finalist for ‘best original song’ with the 6th annual International Acoustic Music Awards, David’s musical talent has not gone unnoticed.
His witty lyrics and clever guitar skills have recently gained attention from some well-respected producers and labels, such as Mark Grillot, who has worked with the likes of Diddy, Pitbull, Akon and Kat Graham, and Adrian Newman, who has worked with artists such as Big Time Rush, Jesse McCartney, The Wanted, Plain White T’s, Carrie Underwood, and Hedley in his ten years in the industry. With the help of these producers, as well as other songwriters, David adds the perfect amount of ingredients to make a song just right. With songs like “Paper Heart,” “Invincible,” and “Covergirl,” people are left wanting more. Make sure to watch out for the release of this breakout artist’s forthcoming album!
